Precision in every flight

Your engine, in real time,
on your flight screen.

FlyEMS is an engine monitoring system for paratrikes and paramotors: exhaust temperature, cylinder-head or water temperature, RPM and fuel level, transmitted over Bluetooth to Gaggle or to the FlyEMS app on your phone.

What it measures

The four numbers that tell your engine's health.

Dedicated sensors for each parameter, read several times per second and sent to your flight screen twice per second.

EGT

Exhaust gas temperature

Type-K thermocouple installed in the exhaust. The first parameter to reveal a lean mixture before it becomes a problem.

CHT / H₂O

Head or water, depending on your engine

Washer thermocouple under the spark plug for air-cooled engines, or a water-temperature probe for water-cooled ones. Selected in the settings page.

RPM

Engine RPM

Inductive pickup on the spark-plug wire, with configurable pulses per revolution to match different ignitions.

FUEL

Fuel level

In-tank level sensor with point-based calibration: it adapts to the real shape and capacity of your tank, liter by liter.

How it works

Install it once. Then, just fly.

No mandatory app, no subscriptions, no internet. The device configures itself from any browser.

Install the sensors

Each sensor plugs into its labeled connector on the enclosure: EGT, CHT or WATER, FUEL, RPM and 12V. The power connector has a different pinout, so mixing them up is impossible.

Calibrate from the browser

A button turns on the device's WiFi network: open the device's page from your phone's browser and calibrate the tank, the temperature-sensor type and the RPM. Everything is stored in the device, even with no battery.

Fly with Gaggle

The device shows up as FlyEms and reconnects by itself on every flight. See it in Gaggle, alongside your navigation, or in the FlyEMS app.

Gaggle and the FlyEMS app

Your instruments, where you already look.

  • Bluetooth Low Energy: low power and automatic reconnection on every flight.
  • Standard EMS protocol: values appear as native Gaggle widgets, configurable on your flight screen.
  • Updates twice per second: immediate EGT response when you move the throttle.
  • No extra app required: if you already fly with Gaggle, there is nothing else to install.
  • FlyEMS app: you can also monitor the engine with the FlyEMS app, without depending on Gaggle.

FAQ

Before asking, check here.

Does it work with my engine?

FlyEMS is engine-agnostic: the ignition's pulses per revolution are configurable and the temperature channel adapts to air-cooled engines (under-plug thermocouple) or water-cooled ones (NTC probe). It is tested on the Vittorazi Cosmos 300 and the design covers the Moster 185 and Rotax 582, among others.

Do I need a separate app?

You have two options: see the data directly in Gaggle, your flight app, or use the FlyEMS app to monitor the engine. Device setup is done from your phone's browser, connecting to the WiFi network created by the device itself.

How is the fuel tank calibrated?

With the trike level, you add known amounts of fuel and capture points from the settings page (up to 10 points). The device interpolates between points, so it adapts to tanks of any shape and capacity. Done once, stored forever.

What if power is lost or I change the battery?

Nothing: all settings and calibration are stored in non-volatile memory inside the device. When power returns, it starts by itself and reconnects to Gaggle.

Can I install it myself?

Yes. Each sensor goes to a connector labeled with its name, and the device ships with an installation and user manual (currently in Spanish). The one important installation requirement is bonding the device ground to the engine ground. The full manual is online.
