In short: FlyEMS Monitor runs on your phone. We do not require user accounts, show no ads, use no analytics tools, and do not send your information to FlyEMS servers. Your GPS position and engine data are processed and stored only on your device.
Who we are
FlyEMS Monitor is the companion app for the FlyEMS engine monitoring system, developed by Six Solutions, Bahía Blanca, Argentina. Website: flyems.ar.
What data the app uses and why
- Location (GPS): used while the app is open to show your position on the map and compute speed, altitude, height above the takeoff point (AGL), heading, distance to the start point, and your flight track. Location is processed on your phone and is not transmitted to FlyEMS servers.
- Bluetooth: used exclusively to connect to your FlyEMS device and receive engine data (RPM, temperatures, fuel, hour meter). This communication is local, between your phone and your device.
- Phone sensors (compass/orientation): used to orient the compass while stationary. They never leave your device.
- Preferences and settings: alarms, limits, theme, widget layout, HOME point, and other settings are stored in your browser or phone local storage. You can erase them at any time by clearing the app data.
Third-party services
To work, the app queries some external services. In those requests, as with any internet connection, the provider receives your IP address and the minimum data required for the request:
- Open-Meteo (weather forecast): receives the approximate coordinates of the area for which the wind and weather forecast is requested. It is an open-data service that requires no registration. More info: open-meteo.com.
- Maps (Esri/ArcGIS and OpenStreetMap): when you pan the map, tiles for the visible area are downloaded. Tiles you have already viewed are cached on your phone for offline use.
- Google Fonts and library CDNs: used to load the app typography and components.
FlyEMS does not share, sell, or transfer personal data to third parties. The services above are queried directly from your device and are governed by their own privacy policies.
What we do NOT collect
- No sign-up, account, email, or phone number required.
- We do not collect your flight history on servers: the track lives on your phone during the session.
- No ads and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or tracking tools.
Permissions the app requests
- Precise location: required for the navigation and flight features described above.
- Bluetooth / nearby devices: required to connect to the FlyEMS device.
You can revoke both permissions in your phone settings; the app will keep working with the features that do not require them.
Children
The app is intended for paramotor and paratrike pilots and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Safety notice
FlyEMS Monitor is a situational-awareness aid. It does not replace certified instruments, flight planning, or the pilot's judgment. The pilot in command is always responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft.
